Dissection is important to biology curriculum because it is a study of animals or whatever is being dissected. For example if a frog was being dissected the person would learn about its insides and what special traits it has compared to something else. Many animals are good to disect such as frogs, snakes, worms, and more.

Blog 9; Define words

Competition : In a community, competition is always occuring, in situations such as food or looks etc.

Commensalism : is a class of relationship between two organisms where one organism benefits but the other is neutral.

Mutualism : is the way two organisms biologically interact where each individual derives a fitness benefit.

Predation :describes a biological interaction where a predator feeds on its prey.

Parasitism : is a type of symbiotic relationship between organisms of different species where one organism, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host.

Something I learned/ Something im confused about

Something I learned about recently was about different types of skulls. Skulls from both human and animals. I learned how to measure them and how to tell them apart. I am confused about all the work we are getting i have lost track of a  lot of things.

Marine - In the marine biome, you are very likely to see fish, all sorts of fish. Fish big and small sharks and lots or different rocks. In the desert you are likely to see lots of sand. There are very little chances of seeing animals but theres animals like lizards, snakes, scorpians, and lot more reptiles and insects.

Blog #6 Which level of a food pyramid is the most important?

I think the fruits and vegetables part of the food pyramid is the most important because it contains lots of vitamins and minerals. It also contains water in which humans need and fruits are very healthy and good for us to eat.

Blog #5 There have been 5 major extinction events throughout history, are humans impacting the 6th?

Yes i think it is possible for humans to go extinct but the main population on earth is human so it would take a very long time for this to happen unless a natural disaster were to occur.

Blog #4 -Describe the three types of selection: directional, stabilizing and disruptive

Directional selection: is a mode of natural selection in which a single phenotype is favored, causing the   allele frequency to continuously shift in one direction.

Stabilizing  selection: is a type of natural selection in which genetic diversity decreases as the population stabilizes on a particular trait value.

Disruptive selection: describes changes in population genetics in which extreme values for a trait are favored over intermediate values.
